Natural Seaweed Salt
A seasoning blend of Guerande Natural fine salt and Sea weeds Dillisk, Nori, Sea lettuce
Produced in the Guerande’s Salt Marsh on the French Atlantic coast, this salt is extracted using the natural power of evaporation of the Wind and the Sun, in the same method as has been used in that area for Millenias. A production system so unique, that Guérande Salt and fleur de Sel have been recognized as IGP (Protected Geographical Indication.
Let in during the high water Spring tides, the sea water is slowly concentrating after running for months through a complex maze of canals and shallow ponds built and maintained since Roman’s time. After months of evaporation, the sea water (The brine) will finally reach its optimum concentration, the lighter Fleur de sel crystal will form and float to the surface where they are carefully hand racked. while larger crystals (Coarse salt) will sink to the bottom.
The lightand small flakes of Fleur de sel crystals is a perfect table salt, ideal to a add a pinch of salt to any salad and dishes. While the coarser Grey salt is best used to add salt during cooking.
