Ordering
When is the best time to order my fish each week?
The product list updates twice a day based on expected landings. The more notice you give us, the better we can look after you — Tuesday afternoon is the sweet spot for the widest selection.
Can I ring my order in over the phone?
We have no phone line — when fish lands, every hand is on deck. Email us instead; it is genuinely the quickest way to reach us.
Is there a minimum order? What does it cost?
Yes — €25.00 for Click & Collect and €45.00 for home delivery.
Click & Collect is free. The home delivery charge is shown at checkout before you pay.
How do I pay? Can I pay cash when I collect?
Payment is by card online when you place the order. Collection points only store your order — they cannot take payment.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Yes, while it is still on our premises — email us as soon as possible with your order number. Once your order is packed or has left, it is too late to change it.
The fish
How fresh is your fish? When is it landed?
Some fish is landed the same morning, some days before — freshness depends on the catch method, the care taken on board, the season, the weather, and the boat. Our standard is simple: we sell what we would eat ourselves.
Wild Irish caught, or farmed and imported?
95% of the fish we source is wild Irish caught. The farmed and imported species we carry because customers ask for them are clearly labelled and kept separate from the wild stocks.
Is your fish defrosted?
No — fresh means fresh. A small number of products (some crabs, shrimps and smoked fish) may have been previously frozen, and those are clearly labelled “Defrosted”.
Is your fish sustainable?
The catch area, the method of capture and sustainability information are shown on every product, so you can judge each fish on its own record.
What about bones?
All our white fish and farmed fish fillets are carefully prepared — scaled, trimmed and pin-boned by hand. Very small fillets can still hold the odd bone; add a note to your order if you need it completely bone-free.
I can’t find the fish I’m looking for, or I don’t know the English name
Email us — between us we speak English, French, Romanian, Spanish and Russian, and we are dangerous with a translation tool. If it swims near Ireland, we can usually find it.
Can I buy frozen fish? Can I freeze fish at home?
Frozen products are stored and shipped at −18°C, though some may begin to defrost in transit — the product page shows which products can travel frozen. At home: never refreeze anything labelled “Defrosted”; fresh whole fish and fillets freeze well, though we will always argue for eating them fresh.
Delivery & collection
Do you deliver? What does it cost?
Our home delivery service is nationwide by DPD courier. Your order travels with ice packs in a compostable thermal box, and you choose your delivery day at checkout — the order cut-off for each day is shown right there.
Delivery is free for orders of 7 kg or more of fresh fish & seafood, or over €150.00.
Tins, 2 kg Deals and other wholesale-sized items don’t count towards that weight — only fresh fish and chilled seafood do.
When will my delivery arrive?
On the morning of delivery, DPD sends you a text and email with an estimated time window and live tracking.
What happens at the collection point?
Your order is kept chilled and ready under your name. Check you have everything before you leave — larger orders can span more than one bag, marked “bag 1 of 2” and so on. Collection point staff store orders for us; they cannot answer questions about their contents.
What if I forget, or can’t collect on time?
Email us immediately and we will do what we can. Once an order has been delivered or collected, it is in your care — fresh is only as fresh as on the day.
Packaging & the planet
Do you recycle, or take back the packaging?
90% of our packaging is either recyclable or compostable. Boxes and thermal liners go in compost or recycling as marked, sleeves and paper in recycling, and ice packs can be refrozen and reused — or emptied into the bin and the plastic recycled.
When something goes wrong
I’m not happy, or there was a problem with my order
Tell us — we want to hear how we got it wrong. Check your order when you receive it and email us within 24 hours with your order number and a photo if it helps, and we will put it right.
How can I contact you?
By email — we monitor the inbox throughout the day and reply as quickly as we can. If your query is about an existing order, include your order number and we will get to you faster.
