Tellines are a small but delicious & very colorful clam, known as Wedge clams in English. They are the real Surf clams, colonizing extremely shallow water (max 2 meters deep) on beach of fine sand. The are common in the Mediterranean and Atlantic coast of Western Europe… We noticed large amount of Telline shells on some beach on the Irish East coast, but they seems to be of no interest to local fishermen. #Nocomments…  Tellines are a popular shellfish in France and Italy were they are added to Spaghetti dishes.
