The piri-piri is also known as peri-peri, pili-pili, African devil or African bird’s eye chili (“Piri” means “pepper” in Swahili) and is a chili of the Capsicum frutescen variety, spicy flavor. It can be used as an appetizer, in salads, in sauces, in stews, as a side dish, etc.
