Welcome to Gannet Fishmongers, Galway – The home of EatMoreFish.ie
We started back in 2004 at Galway Market, where you’ll still find us every Saturday. For our founder & Master Fishmonger Stefan Griesbach, seafood isn’t just a trade— it’s a lifelong passion backed by 35+ years of hands-on experience.
With over 900 product, we may run what appears to be the “Amazon” of Fish and Seafood in Ireland… but at heart, we are your local fish shop same commiment to quality, service, and personal touch.
Same fish, same price— Online or in-store.
No hidden markups, no gimmicks. Just honest prices across the board, always clearly displayed in €/kg.
Why is it so hard to find great fish on an Island surrounded by world-class fishing waters?
Ireland’s relationship with Fish or Seafood is complicated to say the least … For the past 22 years we have made the effort to help changing the narrative — One fish, One customer at a time. We offer the selection Full catch, not only the popular species.
Our Full Catch approach means we don’t just sell the usual suspects. We are commired to highlight every lesser-known species, our way to support our National & artisanal fishing, and encouraging our customers to eat MORE fish and all the Seafood

Local Fish and Seafood are seasonal—and that’s a good thing.
The quality of every fish changes with the seasons. We have the expertise to decide when is the season to buy or to decide to skip a species. When your favourite species is shown as still swimming, it is either because they got lucky.. or that we may have choosen to give it a break. Eat MORE fish!!!
No flying fish and Ethical sourcing Â
We stopped dealing in air-freighted seafood. The environmental cost is high, and hurts local food systems. We keep our fresh supply grounded, and always prioritise Irish caught fish.
It takes 5 years to learn a trade, 10 to master it. Parisian-born Stefan has been at it for 35. From fish farming and marine biology to processing and retail, he’s done it all — driven by a lifelong passion for seafood.
Filleting fish, selling it, driving, fixing whatever we break... Dima — is our jack-of-all-trades. There’s not much he can’t do.
"Coco" was a fully qualified Butcher, before beginning Cheffing to travel around the World, Corentin joined our crew, sharing his huge experience in the food trade while startng learning all there is to know about Fish & Seafood.
Mick keeps the wheels turning. As our office manager, he handles the admin and paperwork—so the rest of us can focus on the fish (and the fun stuff).
Welcome to our fish processing unit — Gannet HQ.
To give us the best control on quality, we believe into sourcing our fish directly from the boats, filleting and preparing everything ourselves .
Built by us, for us, our processing unit meets every food safety standards. Designed by people who handle fish every day, for people who love eating it.
