Salted Ling

Before refrigeration was available, salting fish was the common way to preserve & transport fish. Salted Ling has long been staple food for Irish rural communities. The tradition is still ongoing in area like Kerry where Salted Ling remains widely consumed as a tradition on Christmas Eve.  Salted Ling can be used to replace Salt cod Bacalao.

This product must be soaked in fresh water for 24 hours prior cooking to remove some of the excess Salt.
