Red bank Bay marks the boundaries between Galway & Co.Clare on the Southern fringes of Galway bay. This area was once upon a time famous and known as far as London for the quality and extensive population of Native flat wild Oysters. Unfortunately, greed long drove this unique ressource to exctinction and the wild oyster beds are long gone but behind remains a rich nutrients water inlet perfect for the growth and fattening of those plump sweet Oysters.
